Dental Implants

Dental Implants

Dental implants support replacement teeth. Dentists insert them directly into the alveolar bone. Thus, they hold the false tooth the same way as the root has the natural tooth. Our dentist will explain the treatment to you. It may differ from the procedure described here as it will design for your own needs. The details of the process may also vary from country to country.

A dental implant is a metal rod with an internal screw or abutment that can hold a denture (or teeth) in place. Dental implants are usually made of titanium. After a few months, the alveolar bone fuses with the titanium rod.

Dentures, crowns, or bridges can be attached to the dental implant to replace missing teeth.

An implant can easily support one or more replacement teeth. It takes at least six implants to replace all teeth in the upper jaw and four to six implants in the lower jaw. At least one minor surgical procedure requires for dental implants in Turkey. You must have healthy gums. Some specialists don’t place dental implants in smokers, as smoking can affect treatment outcomes.

Implants may not be a successful treatment for people with health problems such as diabetes and osteoporosis or those undergoing chemotherapy treatment. Ask your dentist if dental implants are a suitable option for you.

What are dental implants? What do dental implants do?

A dental implant is simply an artificial tooth root. In other words, it is a titanium screw placed on the jaw or upper jaw bone to replace the missing tooth as if it were a natural tooth.

Dental implants have a cylindrical or conical shape, with the length and diameter chosen according to the amount of bone. As shown earlier, a dental implant doesn’t cause any adverse changes in the body. The dentist will explain how to prepare for the procedure. The dentist may need an x-ray or CT scan to check the thickness of the alveolar bone and the position of other structures in the mouth. Dental implants in Turkey usually make under local anesthesia. This type of anesthesia completely blocks the pain in your mouth, and you stay awake during the procedure.

Your dentist will tell you what will happen before, during, and after the treatment and the pain you may experience. This is your chance to figure out what to expect, and it may be helpful to prepare a list of questions about the risks, benefits, and other alternatives to the procedure. Take a closer look at the dental implants treatment steps in Turkey:

  • Once the anesthesia has taken effect, the dentist will make an incision in the gum and make a small hole in the alveolar bone. Dental implants will place in that hole.
  • If a tooth needs to extract before the dental implant, the dentist can remove the tooth and place a dental implant directly in the tooth socket. However, the dentist usually places the implant a few weeks later. Sometimes it takes several months after extraction for the alveolar bone to heal.
  • Both immediate and delayed implants can make in one or two stages. In one-stage implant treatment, the rod and the abutment pass through the gums simultaneously to connect the implant to the denture.
  • In the two-stage implant treatment, the dental implant bar is embedded under the gum while the bone heals (you cannot see it in your mouth). You will have another minor surgery to place the abutment a few months later. Sometimes the dentist can implant the artificial teeth on the day of the dental implant. However, the mouth usually takes three to eight months to heal.
  • Your dentist may fit you with a temporary bridge or partial denture to prevent gaps between your other teeth. If you have a complete denture, it can be adjusted so you can wear it for the duration.
  • After healing, the doctor will perform a second, more minor operation to expose the gum over the dental implant, if needed. The dentist will place the artificial tooth over the implant. Teeth can be permanently attached or placed so the doctor can remove them for oral cleaning. The dentist will ensure that these fit snugly, look like your other teeth, and don’t cause discomfort.

How much does a dental implant cost?

The dental implants cost in Turkey depends on several factors. The types of implants, the brand of the dental implant, and even the country of manufacture of the implant change the dental implant prices in Turkey. Every case is different, and you should go to an evaluation consultation to determine the best treatment plan so that we can give you a more accurate price. Check out the factors that contribute to changing implant prices in general:

  • Dental work: All dental treatments include in the final price you pay.
  • Lab fee: You pay not only for the dental work but also for the dental lab that will create the implants.
